Motorized Blinds Sales Continue to Rise

According to some of the statistics I've read the areas that are growing the most seem to be in automated window products, interior and exterior shutters and shades. (pleated, cellular, roller, solar, and roman)
Studies show the housing market is not expected to recover until sometime in 2010 and the economy is not far behind expecting to start stabilizing sometime around then also.
Studies also show there are 50% more millionaires in the U.S. than just five years ago, so targeting homes in the $500,000.00 plus range could prove quite profitable for someone selling window treatments today. This market group is not your typical do all of the work yourself type group, they generally want a professional to come out determine their needs and order it all for them. (do you hear a cha-ching? I do.) Also home automation combined with audio visual integration will be of particular interest to this market segment.
As of right now, around 5% of all movable window treatments are motorized or automated, this is expected to increase measurably over the next few years, particularly between 2010 and 2013. The product groups most effected will include drapes, blinds, shades, and interior and exterior shutters. Technology has accelerated the demand for automation products since the early 2000's with the desire for luxury and comfort products, and now with the go green push I predict this market will only continue to take off from here.
